MOVIE LOCATION

Since the early 1980's, our castle, orangerie and park have been used for many movie settings and photo shoots, including mostly international productions. From a rustic Provençale setting of a lush garden and idyllic setting, to a human trafficking ring headquarter with Police helicopters landing in our park to a post-apocalyptic setting - we've seen it all, and adapted our space to the movie location. Each movie set is exciting, inspiring, exhausting and generally pretty fun. Here's a list of some movies shot on location.

THE BEAST IN THE JUNGLE is a film adaptation of Henry James’ 19th century novella of the same name. Set in a remote English country mansion and stretching from the Jamesian era to a globalised present-day setting, the film uses dance to recount the epic and unconventional love story of John Marcher (Dane Jeremy Hurst) and May Bartram (Sarah Reynolds). During a chance encounter ten years after first meeting, May reminds John that he once revealed to her a deep and menacing conviction that his life would be defined by a life-changing experience – one that was waiting for him “like a Beast in the Jungle.” Intrigued by his continued belief in this foreboding secret, May decides to stay by John’s side and soon develops feelings of genuine love for him. John is not able to reciprocate her devotion, preferring instead to resume his shallow life as a travelling businessman. Only when it’s too late, does John realize that the beast had already sprung in the jungle of his life (source)

Set in Ireland during the Great Famine, the drama follows an Irish Ranger who has been fighting for the British Army abroad, as he abandons his post to reunite with his family. Despite experiencing the horrors of war, he is shocked by the famine's destruction of his homeland and the brutalization of his people and his family.

He was haunted by images of what he saw during the colonial wars, and was not able to deal with it when he returned home. Franziska is now ready to cope with her childhood memories, which she kept a secret for too long.

Sie fegt alle Skrupel beiseite und inspiriert Trakl mit ihrer unbändigen Liebe zu seinen weltberühmten Gedichten. Es folgt eine Zeit ungetrübten Glücks, in der Grete von einem gemeinsamen Leben träumt, irgendwo, wo sie keiner kennt. Aber Georg hält dem sozialen Druck nicht stand und betäubt seine Schuldgefühle im Drogenrausch. Er zwingt Grete, ihren zwanzig Jahre älteren Musikprofessor zu heiraten. Max Palu ist bereits bekannt wie ein bunter Hund in Saarbrücken, als er zum ersten Mal für den Tatort ermittelt. „Salü Palu“ erschallt es von allen Seiten, wenn er durch die Stadt schlendert. In seinem ersten Einsatz im Saarbrückener Tatort versucht Hauptkommissar Palu einen Mädchenhändlerring auffliegen zu lassen. Zu diesem Zwecke lässt der unkonventionell denkende Kommissar Jaques Domberg aus der U-Haft entlassen. Domberg ist ein bekannter Pianist, trockener Alkoholiker und steht unter Verdacht mit Kokain gehandelt zu haben. „Salü Palu, sagt er, als er aus der Haft in die Freiheit tritt, denn draußen erwartet ihn schon der Kommissar mit einem Auftrag.

Max Palu will, dass Jaques wieder in sein altes Milieu, seinen alten Tatort zurückkehrt, als Spitzel. Er soll sich umhören und Palu so helfen an die Mädchenhändler heranzukommen. Was Palu nicht weiß: Genau diese Bande ist für den Tod von Jacques‘ Frau verantwortlich. Und so gerät Domberg gleich zweifach in Gefahr. Zum einen durch den Alkohol entgegen. Zum anderen durch seine einstigen Freunde, die nun Feinde sind. Sie durchschauen quasi schon beim ersten Salü, was Domberg im Schilde treibt.

Max Palu bringt seinen Lockvogel also unwissentlich in Gefahr. Zugleich entwickelt er eine Art ablehnende Sympathie für den Pianisten – die letzterer zu teilen scheint. Doch dann beginnt Domger auf eigene Faust zu handeln. Er will die Mädchenhändler stellen, koste es, was es wolle …

John Alexander Straton ist Multimillionär. Er lebt auf seinem weitläufigen Landsitz Silberstein, wo er philosophischen Überlegungen nachgeht. Aber John Alexander Straton hat noch ein ganz besonderes Hobby: Er verschenkt gelegentlich eine seiner vielen Millionen. Das hat nicht unbedingt etwas mit Wohltätigkeit oder sozialem Engagement zu tun: Der Gönner sucht sich die Leute, die er beschenkt, sehr genau aus. Sie müssen in Schwierigkeiten stecken, eine wohltätige Ader haben oder aus anderen Gründen dringend das Geld gebrauchen können. Nach deren plötzlichem Reichtum beobachtet Straton deren weiteres Verhalten.

Stratons Privatsekretär, Michael Anthony, hat die Aufgabe, genauestens über die Reaktionen der Beschenkten Buch zu führen. Straton selber tritt nie öffentlich auf, sondern läßt zunächst den Millionenscheck von Michael Anthony überbringen und sich einen Revers unterschreiben, wonach der neue Millionär niemandem außer dem Ehepartner sagen darf, wieviel Geld er von wem erhalten hat. Dann beobachtet er den Lauf der Dinge. In den meisten Fällen kommt es durch den plötzlichen Reichtum zu turbulenten Reaktionen, Neid und Verdächtigungen. Der Millionär” ist eine Adaption der amerikanischen Serie Wenn man Millionär wär'” von 1955, die ebenfalls in Deutschland ausgestrahlt wurde
